Function
Our client is looking for an experienced API Analyst to join the Integration Team and help strengthen the organization’s API and integration landscape. In this enabling role, you will support development teams in designing, standardizing, documenting, and governing APIs, with a strong focus on alignment with architecture principles, reusability, and composable architecture.
Responsibilities
- Support development teams in analyzing, designing, and documenting APIs.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into clear API contracts, specifications, and integration agreements.
- Maintain and improve API standards covering naming conventions, versioning, error handling, security guidelines, and documentation quality.
- Review existing APIs and integration patterns and propose improvements for standardization and reuse.
- Contribute to API governance by reviewing designs and ensuring alignment with architectural guidelines.
- Work closely with business analysts, functional analysts, developers, architects, security specialists, and operational teams.
- Help development teams apply composable architecture principles so that APIs and services contribute to a modular and manageable application landscape.
- Support knowledge sharing by contributing templates, guidance, and documentation for API development.
- Help further professionalize the Integration Team as a supporting team for development squads.
Technical Skills
- Confirmed experience in functional and technical analysis within IT projects or software development.
- Confirmed experience in API analysis, API design, or integration analysis.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, API contracts, OpenAPI/Swagger, and JSON.
- Strong understanding of integration principles such as synchronous and asynchronous communication, event-driven integration, message queues, and middleware.
- Experience with ESB environments and integration platforms, preferably AXWAY and Fuse.
- Understanding of composable architecture principles and the role of APIs, services, ESB platforms, and integration patterns within a modular application landscape.
- Experience with API governance, API lifecycle management, versioning, documentation, and service reusability.
- Knowledge of API security concepts such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, certificates, access control, and secure API design.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with development teams.

- Languages: Dutch, English, and French.
