Application Architect

Function

We’re looking for an experienced Application Architect to join our client’s team and contribute to the evolution and modernization of critical enterprise applications. You’ll work closely with existing architecture and development teams on application evolution, performance, observability and scalability, while ensuring that solutions remain aligned with established architecture and security standards.

The role combines hands-on architectural work with technical guidance. You’ll follow application evolution from architecture and design through development and implementation, while supporting developers through technical reviews, coaching and design guidance where needed.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of high-volume enterprise applications and document service platforms.

• Help improve application performance, scalability, observability and monitoring in preparation for increasing system loads.

• Define and maintain application architecture in line with enterprise standards and security principles.

• Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into sustainable architectural solutions.

• Prepare, coordinate and follow up development activities and technical work packages.

• Review technical designs and implementations and provide guidance to development teams.

• Support developers through technical coaching, architecture reviews and the application of appropriate design patterns.

• Ensure consistency between different applications, integrations and technical components.

• Contribute to application maintenance, migrations and technical modernization initiatives.

• Promote secure and maintainable solutions, with particular attention to IAM, API security and modern authentication standards.

Technical Profile

You have solid experience as an Application Architect and a strong background in Java-based enterprise application development.

Key expertise includes:

• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.

• Experience with Angular and JavaScript.

• Strong understanding of application architecture and design patterns.

• Experience designing and developing Web APIs, including REST and SOAP.

• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

• Strong understanding of IAM and authentication technologies such as OAuth, OpenID Connect and Keycloak.

• Knowledge of application security principles, including OWASP.

• Experience with containerized environments such as Docker, Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern software delivery environments.

• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into robust, scalable and maintainable architectures.

Profile

You are a pragmatic and technically strong architect who enjoys working at the intersection of architecture and development. You can take ownership of architectural topics while remaining sufficiently close to the technology to understand implementation challenges and provide meaningful guidance to development teams.

You communicate clearly with architects, developers and other stakeholders and are comfortable working in a complex enterprise environment. You have a structured approach, a strong focus on quality and security, and an interest in continuously improving application architecture and engineering practices.
