Automated Software Tester Cypress

We are looking for a Junior Software Tester to join our client’s team and help strengthen their automated testing strategy. In this role, you will contribute to designing, executing, and continuously improving automated tests, with a strong focus on Cypress. You will work in an Agile environment alongside developers, Product Owners, and DevOps engineers to ensure the reliability, performance, and overall quality of modern web applications.

Role & Responsibilities
As a Software Tester, you play a key role in safeguarding application quality through structured and automated testing practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines following agreed standards

• Identify, document, and follow up on defects until resolution

• Improve and optimize overall test coverage

• Analyze and validate scenarios suitable for automation

• Implement and maintain test data management

• Collaborate with technical teams to enhance application testability

• Contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

• Support the setup and enhancement of automated test reporting

Technical Skills & Experience
Our client is looking for a junior profile with a solid technical foundation and a passion for quality assurance.

• Experience with web test automation using Cypress

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript

• Familiar with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.

• Understanding of web architectures, REST APIs, and end-to-end testing

• Experience with Git

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Familiarity with QA best practices such as BDD and TDD

• ISTQB Foundation certification is considered a plus

Profile & Language Requirements
You combine analytical thinking with attention to detail and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.

• Degree in IT or equivalent experience in QA/testing

• Structured, analytical, and quality-driven mindset

• Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders

• Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented

• Experience in front-end development or advanced automation is a plus

• Languages: Active knowledge of Dutch, French, and English (spoken and written, including technical documentation)
