Function
Our client is looking for an experienced DevOps professional to support the management and operation of a central AWS platform. This opportunity focuses on platform reliability, automation, infrastructure scaling, and the operational rollout of applications within a structured cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and operate the central AWS platform and its associated workloads.
- Build, maintain, and evolve the platform’s core components and services.
- Oversee traffic flows and service integrations within the platform.
- Improve and further develop Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Deploy and operationalize applications within the landing zone.
- Automate releases across multiple environments.
- Monitor infrastructure and application health and take action to ensure reliability.
- Support recovery and failure-handling planning to strengthen platform resilience.
- Configure and add new services and flows as needed.
Technical Skills
- Proven experience with CI/CD automation tools such as GitHub or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with a centralized hosting platform in a hub-spoke architecture, including key central components such as firewall and DNS solutions.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms such as ECS Fargate, Kubernetes, or Docker.
- Good knowledge of AWS.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or MongoDB administration.
Profile
- Higher education in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience in ICT technologies requiring specialized expertise.
- Demonstrable experience with the relevant technology stack or similar technologies.
- Experience working in an Agile and DevOps environment is considered an advantage.
- Experience within a public-sector environment is considered an advantage.
- Ability to provide one or more cases demonstrating experience in building and maintaining a central hosting platform.
- A signed NDA document must be submitted.
Practical Information
- Assignment volume: 150 MD, spread across 2 resources.
- Working regime: 5 days per week.
- The external consultant works on a personal laptop with virtual access to the client environments.
- Interviews are planned within two weeks after the submission deadline.
- Language requirement: fluent Dutch at CEFR level C2.
- This opportunity is subject to funding conditions linked to the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, including compliance with the “do no significant harm” principle.
