We’re looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join our client’s team and play a key role in building a scalable, reliable, and high-performing data ecosystem. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality data solutions that empower analytics, business intelligence, and data science initiatives.
The Role
As an Azure Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and modern data architectures on the Microsoft Azure platform. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure data is efficiently collected, processed, and made available for business and analytical use.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure services such as Data Factory and Databricks
- Develop modern data architectures including Data Lake, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse models
- Automate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions
- Maintain and optimize the Azure data platform to ensure performance, security, and reliability
- Support self-service analytics initiatives, including Power BI integration and governance
- Document data flows, models, and best practices to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing
- Implement real-time data streaming solutions and integration patterns (e.g., APIs, messaging systems)
Profile & Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with strong expertise in Azure-based data solutions
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Key Vault, and Azure DevOps
- Strong programming skills in SQL and Python (Scala is a plus) and experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark/PySpark
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles applied to data engineering and platform management
- Experience with Power BI administration and data governance practices
- Familiarity with real-time data streaming and application integration patterns
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in at least one local language and willingness to strengthen another
Nice to Have
- Azure or Databricks certifications
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
- Exposure to SAP data sources or broader Azure architecture and governance practices
