BI Developer Analyst

Function

We're looking for a skilled professional to join our client's dynamic team. This opportunity involves playing a vital role in developing data solutions, particularly focusing on data warehouses and data marts. The ideal candidate will engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data requirements. A solid foundation in the Microsoft SQL Server BI technology stack, including Power BI and Azure Databricks, is essential.

Responsibilities

The selected individual will be responsible for:

• Facilitating discussions with end-users to gather functional and non-functional requirements for BI solutions.
• Translating business needs into logical and physical data models, ensuring appropriate documentation.
• Collaborating closely with the data architect to convert requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Designing, building, deploying, and maintaining effective BI solutions following established standards, particularly around data integration and performance requirements.
• Testing analytical solutions, performing troubleshooting, and providing ongoing maintenance and technical documentation.
• Creating visualizations and reports using Power BI or SSRS as requested.
• Conducting prototype reviews and demonstrations, including training sessions on data models for business users.
• Working alongside the project leader throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful implementation in an agile environment.

Key Skills

• A Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of experience in data functional analysis and BI development within the Microsoft BI stack (including SSIS/SSAS).
• A minimum of 7 years of data engineering experience using Azure Databricks and Python.
• Proficiency in translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Strong experience in data modeling (both logical and physical).
• Solid expertise in designing data warehouses utilizing Kimball Dimensional Modeling.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server development, including SQL queries and T-SQL.
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI and SSRS.
• Knowledge of Master Data Management and Data Quality Management is a plus.
• Familiarity with data modeling tools and Azure data analytics tools is advantageous.
• Experience working in agile project environments is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Dutch is required.
