Business Analyst - Enegry & Systems Tranformation

The Business Analyst will play a central role in the interactions between Business and IT within the Customers, Markets and System Operations (CMS) department, contributing to technological advancements and supporting the transformation of the energy system in line with European climate policy. The mission is to deliver infrastructure and services for a sustainable electricity system, with community interest at the heart of all decisions.

CMS Department Focus:

  • Works towards carbon neutrality by advising policy and partnering with customers.

  • Designs systems with a consumer-centered approach.

  • Optimizes asset use, enhances visibility, and addresses stability challenges.

  • Automates tasks and implements a new market design with a strong price signal.

  • Drives the digital transformation of core business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the business in developing designs for new products and evolving existing products.

  • Define business expectations and model the information and operational processes for designing or evolving IT tools.

  • Model business data and assist in developing an enterprise data warehouse.

  • Analyze and document business requirements based on needs.

  • Validate functional analysis from IT to ensure the solution meets specifications.

  • Validate implementations after each sprint by preparing and running test cases.

  • Coordinate the implementation of applications across cross-functional projects.

  • Support the business in specifying and running software validation tests (UAT) and coordinate integration tests.

  • Train and assist the business in using tools optimally.

Requirements:

  • At least six years of relevant experience or equivalent experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent command of Dutch and/or French and a good command of English.

  • A degree in civil engineering, commercial engineering, a master's degree in science, or an equivalent degree.

  • In-depth knowledge of business process modeling and data modeling.

  • Experience in writing and validating functional specifications.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.

  • Initial professional experience in the energy field is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and proactively with a solution-oriented approach.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Customer-focused, flexible, critically minded, and a true team player.
