Function
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our client's team on a long-term consulting assignment in a complex IT environment. In this role, you'll analyse existing systems, translate business and technical needs into clear requirements, and help shape future solutions. You'll play a key part in ensuring a smooth transition from project delivery to operational support, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to build a reliable, scalable, and well-documented IT ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Analyse existing IT infrastructure, including server environments, camera systems, and software applications, and contribute to defining the target architecture and setup.
- Assess system interactions and integration requirements between connected technologies, ensuring that changes are technically and functionally aligned.
- Define and document business processes, functional requirements, and technical specifications to support implementation and operational handover.
- Identify tasks, dependencies, risks, bottlenecks, and potential mitigation measures, taking feasibility, planning, budget, and delivery constraints into account.
- Track progress, maintain decision logs, contribute to quality management, and ensure deliverables meet the required standards.
- Structure and transfer knowledge to facilitate operational readiness and long-term continuity.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders across business, architecture, data, analysis, and software engineering teams.
- Contribute to the long-term evolution of the IT landscape, considering scalability, emerging technologies, system integration, monitoring, and privacy-related requirements where relevant.
The Ideal Candidate
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in business analysis and/or ICT project support.
- Experience working in complex IT environments, preferably within public-sector organisations.
- Familiarity with business process modelling, requirements management, and project tracking methodologies and tools.
- Experience with MS Visio, JIRA, and Confluence, or equivalent tools.
- Knowledge of monitoring solutions and the definition of monitoring parameters is an advantage.
- An affinity with camera technology, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), or traffic-related enforcement systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex information, identify implications, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- A proactive, organised, and results-oriented approach, combined with attention to detail and a strong understanding of the bigger picture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly, ask the right questions, and align different teams.
- Able to work independently, manage priorities, adapt to changing circumstances, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Languages: Native-level Dutch or French, strong passive understanding of the other national language, and active working proficiency in English.
