Function

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our client’s team within an international aviation and logistics environment, with a focus on Aviation Network Operations. In this role, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating operational needs into clear, actionable IT requirements. The position is especially suited to someone who understands complex logistics flows, including line haul movements across air and ground operations, and who can contribute to the continuous improvement of critical operational systems.

Responsibilities

Your main focus will be to gather, analyse, document, and validate business requirements for new and existing IT solutions within the aviation operations domain. You will review current systems, workflows, and technologies, identify optimisation opportunities, and convert business needs into structured deliverables such as business requirements, functional requirements, and process documentation.
You will also:

  • Work closely with stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure smooth collaboration throughout the delivery lifecycle

  • Support the alignment between business expectations and technical solutions by clarifying requirements and guiding implementation teams

  • Contribute to the review of functional architecture, workflows, and user interfaces to ensure usability and operational effectiveness

  • Monitor industry developments, standards, and best practices relevant to aviation IT and logistics operations

  • Collaborate with project delivery teams to support successful implementation within agreed scope and quality expectations

Profile

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst and holds a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. You combine strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to structure complex information into practical outcomes for both technical and non-technical audiences.
We are particularly looking for someone with:

  • Solid knowledge of logistics and operational processes, preferably in aviation or transport-related environments

  • Experience with requirements elicitation, validation, and structured analysis techniques such as SA/SD, Information Engineering, or similar methods

  • Strong skills in process modelling, logical data modelling, business rule specification, business service specification, and use case analysis

  • A strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design, especially strategic design principles

  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches, and experience working in cross-functional teams

  • Excellent documentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

  • Knowledge of aviation-related IT solutions such as flight operations, maintenance, crew scheduling, or cargo management systems

  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, aviation standards such as ARINC, and broader SDLC practices and tooling

  • A CBAP certification or similar business analysis certification is considered an advantage

Languages

  • English: fluent, both spoken and written

  • Dutch: considered a strong plus
