Business Information Analyst

Function

We're looking for a consultant to join our client's team, where you'll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and business intelligence (BI) solutions. Your ability to analyze and understand the business requirements for insights will be key, as you'll facilitate the translation from business needs to BI technical specifications for data engineers. This position involves crafting semantic models and complex reports and dashboards using Power BI, while also contributing to the migration of reporting needs from the existing BI environment to Power BI.

Responsibilities

As a part of the team, you will support data modeling and create reports in Power BI to bolster business operations. Your core tasks will include:

• Collaborating within a team to fulfill the data modeling and reporting needs utilizing Power BI.
• Conducting functional analyses of source data to prepare for BI requirements.
• Building dimensional models to empower Data and Reporting Analysts (DRA) in crafting efficient dashboards.
• Delivering complex reports and dashboards to the business while supporting the DRA in maintaining these assets.
• Ensuring accurate insights are provided through the BI layer.
• Maintaining existing Power BI datasets and aiding the DRA in using these datasets for visualizations and reports.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset combined with substantial experience in Power BI and related BI technologies. Key qualifications include:

• Proficient in Power BI (modeling, DAX, visualization).
• Experience in data modeling, data warehousing, reporting, and data visualization.
• Competence in SQL.
• A quick learner with the ability to grasp business knowledge effectively.

Additional Assets

While not mandatory, additional experience in the following areas will enhance your application:

• Familiarity with SAP BI, specifically universe design.
• Expertise in project management business domains.

Language Requirements

Fluency in both English and Dutch is required for this role.
