CISO Senior Management Role
Function
We’re looking for a senior-level consultant to join our client’s leadership team within the information security domain. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional who thrives in complex environments, leads with authority, and delivers on critical cybersecurity and resilience initiatives. The position offers long-term continuity as well as the flexibility to transition into Change Manager or Project Manager assignments as organizational priorities evolve.
Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will operate as a senior leader within our client’s security organization, combining strategic oversight with strong execution capabilities. Your responsibilities include:

Leading and managing one or more teams within the information security function, ensuring operational excellence and effective resource and capacity management

Driving high-priority initiatives across cybersecurity, resilience, risk mitigation, tooling assessments, and tendering processes

Owning the full project lifecycle, from stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering through delivery, reporting, and optimization

Operating with a high degree of autonomy in complex stakeholder environments and under time pressure

Supporting compliance with standards and regulations such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIS2, and related frameworks
-
Acting as a change leader, with readiness to step into Change Manager or Project Manager roles when required
The Ideal Candidate
This role is suited to a leader with significant experience in IT, critical infrastructure, and cybersecurity who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Our client is seeking someone who offers:

A proven background in ICT transformation, program delivery, and business process improvement

Strong knowledge of IT service management and governance frameworks such as ITIL, CMMI, project management methodologies, and ISO/IEC standards

Working knowledge of NIS2 and the AI Act; certification as a Data Protection Officer is a strong advantage

Proven experience in managing people, engaging with C-level stakeholders, and driving operational excellence

The ability to coach, mentor, and develop diverse and multicultural teams

High adaptability and willingness to take on new responsibilities as business needs evolve
Requirements & Background
Candidates should meet the following criteria to be considered:

Trilingual proficiency in English, French, and Dutch (French or Dutch at native level)

A minimum Bachelor’s degree

Extensive experience in large, complex organizations, including:
-
20+ years in program, project, and team management
-
10+ years in IT environments
-
Experience within sectors such as public transport, aviation, maritime ports, or rail
-
3+ years in critical infrastructure
-
At least 1 year in cybersecurity or information security roles

Certifications such as ITIL v3 (minimum Service Manager), CMMI, and one recognized project management framework (e.g. Prince2, PMBOK, or equivalent)

Demonstrated people management experience including recruitment, resource planning, and budget ownership

Proven success in intercultural environments, supported by professional references
