Cobol Developer

Function

Our client is seeking an experienced COBOL developer to support the creation of a protocol register within the national population register. The assignment is part of an eProtocol initiative designed to enable the issuance of electronic identity cards for foreign diplomatic personnel in Belgium, allowing this target group to authenticate electronically and access public online services.

Responsibilities

The selected professional will contribute to the implementation, impact analysis, and maintenance of the applications developed for this environment. The role involves building and testing new transactional and management functions within the central system, based on the analysis provided, as well as continuously adapting, optimizing, and further developing existing capabilities.

Technical Skills

• Strong COBOL experience is required.
• Background as a mainframe developer is expected.
• Experience with transactional and management applications in a central system environment is relevant.

• Confirmed experience as a mainframe developer.
• Ability to work on implementation, testing, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement activities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess impact and support application evolution.

Practical Information

• Language requirements: Dutch or French, plus English.
