Function

Our client is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard its IT environment and ensure compliance with modern cybersecurity regulations. In this role, you will directly contribute to reducing cybersecurity risks and enhancing the organization’s security posture.

Responsibilities

Operational Security

  • Investigate and respond to security incidents using tools such as EDR, NDR, SIEM, SOAR, and PAM.

  • Conduct threat hunting and translate technical findings into actionable insights for business stakeholders.

  • Manage vulnerabilities and propose security improvements for operational IT systems.

  • Produce clear, accurate reports on phishing, vulnerabilities, incidents, and investigations.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure the organization remains compliant with cybersecurity regulations (e.g., NIS2, ISO 27001/27002).

  • Collaborate with departments to identify compliance and cybersecurity risks in processes and workflows.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation.

  • Support responses to client audits and security assessments.

Projects & Initiatives

  • Assist with the implementation of new security technologies and decommissioning of legacy systems.

  • Participate in key cybersecurity projects, such as external SOC setup or deployment of security tools.

  • Contribute to continuous security improvements across the organization.

Profile

  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or strong compliance experience with a desire to pivot into technical security.

  • Hands-on knowledge of EDR, NDR, SIEM, SOAR, and PAM tools.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations (NIS2, CyFun, ISO 27001/27002).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical findings into clear business insights.

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently.

  • Professional proficiency in English, with working knowledge of Dutch and French.
