Cybersecurity Engineer

We're looking for skilled engineers to join our client's team, focusing on enhancing and securing their infrastructure through a robust DevSecOps approach. This role emphasizes the integration of security throughout the entire lifecycle of infrastructure deployment and management, encompassing risk management, compliance processes, and patch management for a variety of systems.
Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for implementing and managing patch management and OS hardening policies, ensuring systems are compliant with predefined security standards. Key duties include:
- Implementing automated patch management within virtualized environments (VMware, Citrix).
- Setting up secure onboarding processes that adhere to best practices for system hardening and segmentation.
- Enhancing system security by documenting processes, tracking activities, and managing vulnerabilities.
- Working closely with infrastructure and development teams to ensure adherence to security best practices throughout system deployment.
Technical Skills
The technical landscape for this position involves a diverse range of technologies and frameworks, including:
- Operating systems such as Windows and Linux, along with relevant virtualization technologies (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms and IaaS/PaaS services.
- Familiarity with frameworks like ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, and established patch management tools and automation scripting techniques.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in systems engineering and administration, supported by relevant qualifications and experience:
- A degree in a related field or equivalent experience of ten years in a similar role.
- Proficiency in patch management, hardening methodologies, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the aptitude to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Fluency in English and Dutch is required, with additional knowledge of French being advantageous.
