We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our client's innovative team, where you'll play a crucial role in the construction of a data and information platform utilizing Databricks in a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment. This platform is designed to unlock diverse sources and applications, paving the way for advanced analytics and reporting functionalities. Your contributions will directly support the analytics use cases for various stakeholders, collaborating closely within a dynamic domain team.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Continuing the development of the data and information platform in line with established architecture and design principles.
• Analyzing, modeling, and implementing data analytics and business intelligence use cases across the platform.
• Maintaining the operational functionality of the data and information platform.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate should have a solid background in data with a mindset focused on data management. Essential expertise includes:

• Proven experience as a BI Consultant, Data Analyst, and in data warehousing modeling and processes, with a minimum of three years in these roles.
• Demonstrated familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Data Management (ETL), and experience with Data Vault modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and knowledge of programming in Python or PySpark.
• Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, and working knowledge of data formats like .xml, .json, and .parquet.
• Excellent command of the Dutch language at the CEFR level C2, with English as an additional language requirement.

Additional Skills

While not mandatory, the following skills will be considered advantageous:

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, and other Azure services.
• Knowledge of the Belgian energy sector and prior experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with database management systems such as Oracle and SQL Server, as well as reporting tools.
• Experience in data warehouse security aspects, as well as SAP BW or related technologies.
• Relevant certifications in data engineering, especially Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional, will be a plus.
