Function

As a Data Scientist within our client’s environment, you will play a key role in designing and delivering advanced analytical solutions that support critical operations and strategic initiatives.

• Design and implement advanced data science solutions using machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI techniques

• Develop predictive and analytical models to support areas such as safety analytics, operational performance, and energy efficiency

• Translate complex operational or strategic challenges into scalable data-driven models

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including technical specialists, operational stakeholders, and IT professionals

• Apply best practices in model development, validation, testing, and deployment

• Contribute to the adoption of modern data science tools, frameworks, and methodologies across the team

You will be involved in a variety of analytical initiatives where advanced analytics and AI can deliver measurable impact.

• Security and risk analytics aimed at improving safety and infrastructure monitoring

• Predictive modeling to optimize operational performance and reliability

• Energy consumption analysis to support sustainability and efficiency initiatives

• Exploration of generative AI use cases to enhance processes and operational decision-making

• Development of strategic models to support data-driven planning and optimization

Profile & Required Skills

Our client is seeking an experienced data science professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders.

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field

• At least 5 years of experience in data science with a proven track record delivering solutions in industrial or operational environments

• Strong knowledge of programming languages commonly used in data science (such as Python or similar)

• Solid understanding of machine learning, advanced analytics techniques, and model lifecycle management

• Experience deploying machine learning or AI models into production environments

• Proven experience working with cloud-based platforms for large-scale data analytics projects

• Ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable analytical solutions

• Strong communication and presentation skills when working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Willingness to work on-site part of the week in collaboration with the broader team

Language requirements: English and Dutch.
