Function
An exciting opportunity for a skilled Data Scientist to join a dynamic team focused on advancing the field of biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This role will involve collaborating with various functions within the organization to drive innovation and excellence in data science applications related to drug substance manufacturing processes. You will play a crucial role in supporting the development and optimization of key processes and methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced statistical and data science support across multiple functions, including cell culture, purification, and analytical activities.
- Engage in process optimization, investigation, comparability studies, monitoring, method transfer, validation, and characterization.
- Contribute to the preparation of protocols and reports with significant statistical content through data collection, experiment design, and data analysis.
- Ensure the traceability and correctness of collected data, facilitating timely information exchange with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with legal standards and regulations, ensuring high-quality scientific and technical documentation.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in statistical data analysis and data science techniques.
- Experience working in a cGMP environment, with a strong understanding of regulatory guidelines.
- Domain knowledge in biologics, particularly in upstream or downstream development and manufacturing.
- Ability to lead complex technical projects effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a change agent mentality to propose innovative solutions to scientific challenges.
Profile
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in data sciences, statistics, or a related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry; or a Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience; or a Ph.D. with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for cross-functional collaboration, particularly in English. Proficiency in Dutch is advantageous.
- A team player capable of working autonomously in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
Practical Information
- This position is based at a biopharmaceutical manufacturing site near Geel.
- Fluent English is required, and proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
- This is a long-term opportunity available for both consultants on our payroll and freelance professionals.
