Function
We're looking for a skilled consultant to join our client's team, taking part in an essential function that involves managing and optimizing crucial database infrastructures. The selected individual will become part of a dedicated team responsible for supporting development efforts while modernizing the database environment. Your role will also involve steering the migration of critical databases to advanced systems, ensuring that best practices are employed for reliability and security.
Responsibilities
Your main tasks will include:
- Administering and optimizing production and non-production databases.
- Collaborating closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams during critical incidents.
- Managing configuration changes based on business needs.
- Implementing a secure access strategy, including IAM principles, roles, permissions, and audits.
- Contributing to compliance demonstrations within the data scope.
- Assisting in the design of robust and tested backup and restoration strategies.
- Regularly validating business continuity plans and ensuring disaster recovery readiness.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation for procedures.
- Effectively communicating risks and proposed solutions.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including:
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, DataGuard, RMAN, SQL, PL/SQL, and RDS.
- Familiarity with Linux and other database types such as MS-SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Proficient in problem-solving, capable of working autonomously and collaboratively to implement solutions.
- Client-focused, continuously seeking improved effectiveness and productivity.
- Ability to manage minor technical projects and lead a team of database technicians is beneficial.
Language Requirements
Fluency in either Dutch or French is essential, along with a solid understanding of the other national language. Proficiency in English is required as well.
