Domain Delivery Lead

We're looking for an experienced Agile Delivery Lead to join our client's team and drive a large-scale digital transformation initiative. In this role, you'll bring multiple agile teams together around a shared vision, oversee the delivery of strategic business applications, and help build the capabilities needed for sustainable, high-quality delivery. Combining strategic thinking with a hands-on, people-focused leadership approach, you'll ensure business objectives are translated into clear priorities while fostering autonomy, collaboration, and continuous improvement across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Align multiple agile squads around shared objectives, ensuring business priorities and delivery plans remain consistent.
• Empower teams to make decisions independently by establishing clear frameworks, encouraging accountability, and supporting their development.
• Coordinate planning, prioritisation, capacity, and dependencies across teams to maintain delivery momentum and transparency.
• Facilitate cross-team ceremonies, reviews, retrospectives, and knowledge-sharing activities to promote continuous learning.
• Remove organisational and operational blockers by strengthening collaboration between business stakeholders, IT teams, and delivery partners.
• Coach team members and foster a culture of trust, transparency, feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Manage change requests, assess their impact, and escalate issues or deviations beyond agreed tolerances.
• Provide structured progress reporting to governance bodies, highlighting delivery status, risks, dependencies, and challenges.
• Manage vendor relationships and contribute to budget oversight and capacity planning within established financial constraints.

Technical Expertise

The ideal candidate combines extensive agile delivery experience with a solid understanding of project governance, business processes, and application lifecycle management. Relevant expertise includes:

• Agile and iterative delivery methodologies, including experience leading multiple autonomous teams.
• Project and programme management, governance frameworks, delivery planning, and risk management.
• Business-IT alignment, strategic roadmap development, and translation of business objectives into actionable priorities.
• Business process reengineering, process optimisation, and continuous improvement.
• Application management, including maintenance, lifecycle planning, and ongoing evolution.
• Cross-functional dependency management, resource allocation, capacity planning, and budget management.
• Stakeholder and vendor management in complex, multi-party environments.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and turn complex information into clear recommendations.

The Ideal Candidate

You bring at least 10 years of experience in a comparable leadership or delivery management role, including responsibility for coordinating multiple teams and complex IT initiatives. Your background may include senior Product Ownership, Business Relationship Management, programme leadership, or another role connecting business strategy with technology delivery. You are an influential communicator who can explain complex technical topics in business-friendly language and translate strategic ambitions into realistic, actionable plans. With a servant leadership mindset, you know how to motivate teams, adapt to different stakeholder needs, and create the conditions for autonomous delivery. Experience managing budgets and team capacity in a complex public-sector environment is essential to navigating competing priorities while maintaining focus on outcomes and long-term value.
