Function

For a growing international B2B organisation active in a technically advanced and operationally critical production environment, we are looking for an IT Application Specialist ERP/WMS.

You will join the internal IT team and play a key role in supporting, improving and further professionalising business-critical applications across production, warehouse operations, logistics and supply chain flows.

The environment combines ERP, WMS, MES-related processes, digitalisation of the production floor, technical equipment and complex international operational flows.

Your role

As an IT Application Specialist ERP/WMS, you will work closely with IT, production, warehouse, logistics and operations teams to support and improve the company’s application landscape.

The main focus is not pure software development, but understanding how operational processes work in practice and how ERP/WMS systems can better support them. You will be close to the business and regularly interact with people on the production floor, in the warehouse and within logistics.

You will help translate operational needs into practical system improvements, configurations and process optimisations. Knowledge of Odoo is useful, but the most important factor is a strong understanding of production, warehouse and supply chain processes supported by ERP and WMS systems.

Your responsibilities include

  • Supporting, configuring and improving ERP and WMS applications across production, warehouse and logistics flows;
  • Understanding end-to-end operational processes, including goods reception, stock movements, production planning, picking, preparation, assembly, distribution and transport readiness;
  • Supporting the further optimisation and rollout of ERP/WMS solutions across sites and business units;
  • Working with production-related flows such as orders, routings, work preparation, shopfloor processes and MES-related activities;
  • Supporting the digitalisation of the production floor and improving how systems are used by operational teams;
  • Analysing how logistics, supply chain and distribution flows are organised and where systems can better support daily operations;
  • Translating business needs into practical application improvements, configurations and clear requirements;
  • Supporting warehouse flows and WMS usage, including stock management, picking, scanning, preparation and outbound logistics;
  • Thinking along about the use of scanners, printers, automated storage systems and other shopfloor or warehouse-related tools;
  • Investigating issues, identifying root causes and proposing structural improvements;
  • Working directly with users in production, warehouse, logistics and operations;
  • Collaborating with external software partners and internal IT colleagues;
  • Reporting on progress, issues and improvements to IT and operations management.

Occasional international travel may be required in the context of rollouts or operational support, but this remains limited.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who combines application knowledge with a strong operational mindset. You do not need to be a developer. In fact, this role is not focused on development. The key is that you understand how ERP and WMS systems support real production, warehouse and logistics processes.

You are a good match if you have:

  • Several years of relevant experience with ERP, WMS, application support, configuration, process improvement or operational systems;
  • Strong experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, supply chain or distribution environment;
  • A solid understanding of operational flows such as goods reception, stock, production planning, routings, picking, preparation, assembly, distribution and transport;
  • Experience working close to operational teams on the floor;
  • Experience translating business needs into practical system improvements or application configurations;
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; Odoo experience is a plus, but not the main requirement;
  • Knowledge of WMS systems; experience with Dynaman is a strong plus;
  • Understanding of MES, shopfloor digitalisation or production floor applications is a strong advantage;
  • Affinity with operational equipment such as scanners, printers, warehouse tools or automated storage systems;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both IT and non-technical users;
  • An analytical, proactive and hands-on mindset;
  • The maturity to work independently and challenge existing processes constructively;
  • Basic SQL knowledge or the willingness to work with queries;
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, business, logistics, supply chain, production or a related field, or equivalent experience;
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English. French is a strong plus.

What we are not looking for

This is not a pure developer role. The ideal candidate is not someone who mainly wants to build or code software.

We are looking for someone who understands production and logistics processes, knows how ERP/WMS systems support those flows and can help improve the way applications are used in daily operations.

What makes this role interesting

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to operations and wants to make a visible impact on how systems support real business processes.

You will not only solve application issues, but also help improve the way production, warehouse and logistics teams work. You will be involved in digitalisation, process optimisation and the further professionalisation of ERP and WMS usage across the organisation.

Experience with lean, kaizen or continuous improvement is a plus, but the most important factor is your mindset: you want to understand operational processes, improve them and make systems work better for the people using them every day.

Practical information

  • Full-time position;
  • Onsite presence required on a daily basis;
  • You will join a flat organisation with short communication lines;
  • The role offers room to grow further within ERP, WMS, MES and shopfloor digitalisation;
  • You will work in an international environment with operational complexity and strong growth ambitions.
