Expert Project Manager

Function

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our client in a strategic public-sector environment. In this role, you will lead a complex IT and transformation initiative from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment across business, technical, and governance stakeholders. You will be responsible for shaping the project approach, coordinating delivery, and making sure all legal, organisational, and operational requirements are properly addressed.

Responsibilities

• Define, maintain, and monitor a detailed project plan with clear objectives, milestones, priorities, and deadlines
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams as well as a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Manage budget follow-up, identify deviations, and take corrective action where needed
• Safeguard planning, quality standards, and efficient use of resources
• Organise and facilitate steering committees, project meetings, and stakeholder alignment sessions
• Report clearly and effectively to senior management and governance bodies
• Conduct risk analyses and implement mitigation or corrective measures
• Ensure transparent communication and consistent reporting across all stakeholders
• Support the implementation of an efficient software-supported process within a complex organisational context

Profile

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in infrastructure projects and/or development projects
• Strong expertise in project management, planning, organisation, and financial follow-up
• Proven leadership and team coordination experience
• Extensive experience in risk management, including identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks
• Strong stakeholder analysis and stakeholder management skills
• Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, terminology, roles, and processes such as PRINCE2, PMBOK, or similar frameworks; certification is preferred
• Ability to transfer expert knowledge to others when needed
• Experience with project management techniques and tools, including risk and issue management
• Knowledge of MS Project and MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Knowledge and practical experience with ITIL
• Excellent communication skills
