Function
Our client is seeking an experienced networking and security engineering professional to support the design, administration, and optimization of a critical F5 BIG-IP environment within a large-scale datacenter and enterprise network landscape. This opportunity sits within a complex infrastructure setting where application delivery, high availability, and security are essential to reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Design load balancing and high-availability architectures.
- Implement and manage F5 BIG-IP solutions for application delivery and network traffic management.
- Configure and administer virtual servers, pools, nodes, monitors, iRules, SSL profiles, and traffic policies.
- Handle SSL/TLS certificate management, SSL offloading, encryption configuration, traffic inspection, and reporting.
- Support Web Application Firewall deployment and policy management when required.
- Integrate authentication and access management using APM and enterprise identity services.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and ongoing service optimization.
- Provide incident, problem, and change management support.
- Carry out security patching, software upgrades, and lifecycle management for F5 infrastructure.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to application delivery, connectivity, and performance.
- Create documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials for stakeholders.
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of F5 solutions, with hands-on experience designing and implementing them in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of IP networks and network management in multi-site environments and datacenters.
- Broad knowledge of IT security concepts, architectures, and implementations.
- Experience with firewall technologies such as Check Point and Palo Alto is an advantage.
Profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, ICT, telecommunications, or equivalent technical experience.
- Independent and methodical working style, with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to assess risks accurately.
- Customer-oriented, resilient under pressure, and able to adapt quickly when urgent operational issues arise.
- Flexible, approachable, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change rapidly.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, departments, suppliers, and service providers.
- Motivated to continuously broaden and deepen technical expertise.
Practical Information
- Work regime: 40 hours per week.
- Hybrid working is possible for up to 3 days per week, depending on the tasks.
- Languages: Dutch, French, and English.
- If the consultant works in Belgium, non-EU candidates must have a valid work permit and residence permit for Belgium.
- This is a long-term consulting opportunity.
