We’re looking for a hands-on Field Service Engineer to join our client’s technical operations team in Belgium. In this dynamic field-based position, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced electromechanical equipment at customer locations across the country. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically skilled professional who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and working directly on-site with complex systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose technical and electromechanical issues and perform efficient repairs on-site or remotely.
- Carry out preventive maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability and operational continuity.
- Install, configure, test, and commission new equipment and systems.
- Edit and troubleshoot PLC programs using laptop-based software tools.
- Interpret technical schematics, assembly drawings, and machine documentation.
- Prepare clear technical reports and intervention documentation after each service visit.
- Provide technical guidance and training to colleagues and end-users when required.
- Collaborate with internal support teams to resolve more complex technical challenges.
- Ensure all interventions are performed according to safety standards and operational procedures.
- Travel daily to customer sites throughout Belgium and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Field Service Technician or Field Service Engineer in an industrial, electromechanical, or technical environment.
- Strong understanding of electronic, electromechanical, and technical systems.
- Experience with custom-built PCs, printers, bearings, security locks, touchscreens, displays, or similar hardware components is considered a strong advantage.
- Comfortable working independently and able to analyze and resolve faults methodically.
- Experience with remote support tools, monitoring software, and service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
- Familiar with Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
- Valid Category B driving license and access to a personal vehicle with sufficient storage space.
- Willing to travel extensively on a daily basis (approximately 200–300 km/day).
Language & Profile Requirements
- Professional proficiency in either Dutch or French (C1 level), with a good working knowledge of the second national language and English (B2 level).
- Strong communication and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Flexible mindset, customer-oriented attitude, and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
