Finops Practioner
Function
We’re looking for an experienced FinOps Practitioner to join our client’s organization and take a leading role in bringing financial discipline, transparency, and optimization to their cloud landscape. You will act as a bridge between finance, procurement, and engineering, ensuring that cloud adoption remains both technically effective and financially sustainable.
Role and responsibilities

Monitor, analyze, and continuously optimize multi-cloud usage and spending, applying techniques such as reserved instances, spot instances, autoscaling, and rightsizing.

Define and enforce cloud financial governance standards, including tagging, cost allocation, and budget controls, while tracking vendor pricing changes and their impact on forecasts.

Partner with finance teams to build accurate budgets, implement showback/chargeback models, and support scenario planning for cloud investments.

Produce clear, actionable cost and usage reporting aligned with the FinOps FOCUS standard, while ensuring compliance with relevant Belgian and EU public sector regulations.

Advocate for cost-aware engineering by educating teams on FinOps principles, collaborating with procurement on contracts and discounts, and integrating FinOps into CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
Profile and delivery setup

At least 5 years of professional FinOps experience, with demonstrable expertise in enterprise cloud, data center, licensing, infrastructure automation, and SaaS budgeting and forecasting.

Proven experience with at least two hyperscalers, with strong expertise in Azure.

Hands-on experience implementing showback or chargeback models and leveraging FinOps tooling and automation for monitoring, anomaly detection, and reporting.

Professional English at C1 level and willingness to visit our client’s site in the Brussels area on a monthly basis.
The ideal candidate

Holds valid FinOps Certified Practitioner and FinOps Certified FOCUS Analyst certifications.

Can design and operate enterprise-level budgeting and forecasting processes, build automated dashboards, and define robust tagging and allocation standards.

Has a strong track record in optimizing reserved instances and savings plans, eliminating idle resources, and delivering measurable cost savings.

Is comfortable defining FinOps processes, KPIs, and review cadences, mentoring teams, and collaborating with procurement on enterprise agreements while ensuring regulatory compliance.
