Functional Analysis Advisor

We're looking for an experienced Functional Analysis Advisor to join our client's IT organization. In this strategic consulting role, you will support development teams by providing expertise on functional analysis, application testing, modeling methodologies, and collaboration tools. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will help drive best practices, improve development processes, and identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI, across the software development lifecycle.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

As a Functional Analysis Advisor, you will play a key role in defining and continuously improving analysis and testing practices across multiple IT teams. Your responsibilities will include:

• Defining, implementing, and maintaining methodologies, standards, and supporting tools for functional analysis.
• Providing expert support for collaboration and work management platforms such as Jira and Confluence, including functional guidance, user support, feature enhancements, and technical capabilities such as APIs and macros.
• Contributing to cloud migration initiatives while evaluating and supporting alternative deployment approaches where appropriate.
• Managing the end-to-end testing strategy, including test case definition, documentation, execution of functional testing, and reporting of test results.
• Supporting the selection, implementation, and adoption of documentation, modeling, and testing tools while coaching analysts in their effective use.
• Identifying process improvement opportunities, updating documentation and procedures, and ensuring consistent adoption of best practices.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure interoperability between processes and tools.
• Performing audits and quality reviews of analysis deliverables to maintain high standards.
• Monitoring developments in Artificial Intelligence and identifying practical opportunities to integrate AI solutions into existing software development processes.

Your Profile

We're looking for a senior IT professional with a passion for knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and enabling development teams to succeed. You bring:

• A Master's degree in IT or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in software development or IT delivery.
• Strong functional expertise with Jira and Confluence, including a solid understanding of their technical capabilities. Experience with comparable platforms is considered an asset.
• Proven knowledge of requirements engineering, functional analysis, data modeling, Agile and Scrum methodologies, object-oriented development principles, and software testing techniques.
• Familiarity with modeling standards and tools such as UML, BPMN, ArchiMate, or similar.
• A strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, with the ability to identify relevant use cases and support teams in adopting AI-enabled practices.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar advisory or governance role, with in-depth knowledge of analysis methodologies, testing frameworks, and related processes.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a collaborative and proactive professional who enjoys coaching others and driving continuous improvement. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality digital documentation in English. You perform well under pressure, thrive in fast-paced project environments, and are comfortable managing multiple priorities. Fluency in French is required, together with at least a good passive understanding of Dutch. If you do not yet meet every requirement, a strong willingness to learn and develop will be highly valued.
