Functional Analyst

We’re looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join our client’s team and contribute to the design and delivery of innovative digital solutions within a complex operational environment. In this role, you will analyze, structure, and optimize business processes while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and technical capabilities. You will be involved in modern technology initiatives, including mobile applications, cloud-based backends, and integration with existing enterprise platforms, playing a key role in bridging business needs and technical implementation.
Role and responsibilities
As a Functional Analyst, you will take ownership of requirements analysis and functional design, ensuring solutions meet business expectations and technical standards throughout the full lifecycle:

Facilitate workshops and requirement elicitation sessions with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize business needs

Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and technical documentation

Analyze and model business processes using BPMN, UML, and sequence diagrams to ensure clarity and efficiency
-
Define acceptance criteria and support the creation of test cases to validate system functionality

Document system interactions, workflows, and API specifications using tools such as Swagger
-
Collaborate closely with architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and solution quality
-
Write and execute SQL queries to analyze data and validate functional behavior
-
Support testing activities, including test preparation, validation, and user acceptance testing
-
Ensure functional scope, quality, and consistency across the software development lifecycle
-
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and efficient delivery processes
Profile and required experience
Our client is seeking a senior consultant with strong analytical capabilities and extensive experience in functional analysis within complex IT environments:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Science, or equivalent through experience

Minimum 10 years of experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst

Proven experience gathering, structuring, and documenting functional requirements
-
Strong expertise in business process modelling using BPMN, UML, or similar methodologies
-
Experience with API analysis, RESTful services, JSON, and system integration
-
Solid experience with SQL and data analysis
-
Hands-on experience with documentation and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
-
Experience supporting testing activities, including defining acceptance criteria and validating delivered solutions
-
Familiarity with cloud environments and modern system architectures
Preferred qualifications
The ideal candidate brings additional expertise in Agile environments and complex enterprise systems:

Experience working in Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe within multidisciplinary teams

Understanding of cloud platforms and modern backend architectures

Familiarity with .NET environments and API-driven system integration

Knowledge of testing practices, including automated testing and QA processes

Experience with release planning, versioning, and change management
-
Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and frontend integration

Experience working on long-term assignments in complex organizational environments
