Functional Analyst

Function

We’re looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to join our client’s team and contribute to a large-scale business transformation program. This is a long-term opportunity within a structured and mature environment, where you will help drive the evolution, refactoring, and greenfield development of critical business applications. You will operate in an Agile setting and play a central role between business and IT stakeholders.

Role

As a Senior Functional Analyst, you act as the key interface between business stakeholders and technical teams. You are comfortable managing the full lifecycle of functional analysis, from initial requirements gathering to delivery follow-up, while ensuring quality, clarity, and alignment across all parties involved.

Responsibilities

• Build strong and sustainable relationships with business stakeholders, project managers, team leads, and external partners

• Analyze and document existing business processes and capture new functional and non-functional requirements

• Translate business needs into structured functional analyses and application designs

• Collaborate closely with technical teams to validate functional designs and ensure proper translation into technical specifications

• Ensure end-to-end follow-up of new functionalities and application deliveries

• Produce and maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout all phases

• Report on progress, support decision-making, manage risks, and escalate when necessary

• Provide guidance and support to junior analysts when required

Deliverables

You are responsible for delivering within agreed timelines:

• Analysis documentation

• Software requirements specifications (including diagrams and structured models)

• Data models

• User stories

• Test plans and test cases

Profile

• Strong experience in functional and business analysis within complex IT environments

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand and abstract complex material

• Strong written and verbal communication skills toward both business and technical stakeholders

• Solution-oriented and customer-focused mindset

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

• Ability to integrate easily into established teams and operate autonomously

• Comfortable adapting to evolving business contexts

Technical ecosystem knowledge is required (hands-on development is not expected), including familiarity with environments based on:

• J2EE / Java 8

• Oracle

• Hibernate

• JUnit / Selenium

• Maven

• Git

• Jira

• APIs, services, mappings, batch processing, and business models

Practical Information

• Brussels region

• Long-term mission with extension possibilities

• Full-time engagement (Monday to Friday)

• Hybrid work model: up to 3 days remote per week

• Languages:

  • French or Dutch (active knowledge of at least one)

  • English (professional written level)

• Due to the nature of the assignment, Belgian nationality is required
