Functional analyst

We’re looking for a Functional Analyst Consultant to join our client’s team and act as the bridge between business needs and IT solutions. In this role, you will translate complex requirements into clear functional designs and ensure smooth delivery across the full lifecycle within an agile environment.

Role & Responsibilities

You will guide solutions from initial concept through to production, working closely with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Analyze business needs and translate them into functional and solution designs
• Propose solution alternatives aligned with enterprise architecture and cost/benefit considerations
• Collaborate with architects, Product Owners, and project stakeholders
• Act as the key liaison between business, analysts, and IT delivery teams
• Define detailed functional requirements and align responsibilities across teams
• Design application flows and assess impact on systems and integrations
• Support development, testing, and deployment to ensure alignment with specifications
• Analyze defects, support testing phases, and assist in production issue resolution
• Maintain documentation and provide post-release support

Profile & Experience

Our client is looking for a structured and analytical professional with strong technical understanding and stakeholder management skills.

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Functional Analyst or similar role
• Strong knowledge of APIs (design, testing, documentation)
• Experience with system modelling (UML, sequence diagrams, flowcharts)
• Familiarity with data validation patterns and basic scripting
• Ability to read code (SQL, Java, JSON/YAML)
• Understanding of object-oriented principles and cloud integration
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (e.g. refinement sessions)
• Experience in the financial sector is required

Nice to have: experience with digital channels (web and mobile)

• English and Dutch required (French is a plus)
