Functional Analyst

We're looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to join our client's team as part of a large-scale business transformation initiative. You will become part of a multidisciplinary department responsible for the modernization, refactoring, and development of business-critical applications. This role requires an experienced consultant who can manage the full analysis lifecycle, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, and thrive in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, project teams, and external partners.
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements, existing processes, and new functional and non-functional needs.
- Translate business requirements into functional analyses, application designs, and solution proposals.
- Collaborate with technical teams to validate functional designs and support the translation into technical specifications.
- Follow the end-to-end delivery of new functionalities and applications, ensuring quality and timely completion.
- Produce and maintain project documentation, including functional analyses, software requirement specifications, data models, user stories, and test plans.
- Work closely with business analysts, developers, and project managers to refine solutions, report progress, manage risks, and support decision-making.
- Provide guidance to junior team members when needed.
Your Profile
You are an experienced Functional Analyst with strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex business environments. You communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, are solution-oriented, and enjoy working on a variety of business domains. You are comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments and have a good understanding of technical concepts such as APIs, mappings, services, batch processing, and business models, enabling you to perform high-quality functional analyses.
Required skills and experience:
- Extensive experience in functional and business analysis
- Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Experience with UML and/or other analysis and modelling techniques
- Strong documentation skills (functional analyses, user stories, test plans, data models)
- Familiarity with enterprise application environments and technologies such as Java/J2EE, Oracle, Hibernate, Maven, Git, JIRA, JUnit, and Selenium
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English and Dutch or French, with knowledge of the second national language considered an asset
- Belgian nationality is required due to the nature of the assignment
