Functional Analyst

We're looking for an experienced Senior Functional Analyst to join our client's team on a large-scale business transformation initiative. In this role, you'll become part of a multidisciplinary team focused on modernizing and delivering business-critical applications through a combination of application refactoring, knowledge transfer, and greenfield development. Working in an Agile environment, you'll play a key role in translating business needs into effective functional solutions while collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, project teams, managers, and external partners.
• Analyze, document, validate, and optimize existing business processes and identify new functional and non-functional requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional analyses, solution designs, and detailed specifications.
• Collaborate closely with developers and technical experts to ensure functional designs are accurately translated into technical solutions.
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of new functionalities and applications, ensuring quality and timely execution.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including functional analyses, software requirements specifications, data models, user stories, and test plans and test cases.
• Work alongside business analysts, developers, and project managers to refine solutions, manage risks, facilitate decision-making, and provide regular project status updates.

The Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced Functional Analyst with strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex business environments. You communicate effectively with both business and technical teams, are customer-focused, and enjoy working in dynamic environments where business domains evolve regularly. You are comfortable mentoring junior colleagues and thrive in Agile/Scrum teams.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Extensive experience in functional and business analysis across the full project lifecycle.
• Proven experience creating functional documentation, software requirements specifications, data models, user stories, and test documentation.
• A solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• The ability to communicate confidently with technical teams and understand concepts such as APIs, integrations, mappings, services, batch processing, and business models, although the role itself is not hands-on technical.
• Familiarity with enterprise technology environments including Java/J2EE, Java 8, Oracle, Hibernate, JUnit, Selenium, Maven, Git, and Jira.
• Active knowledge of French or Dutch, with the ability to communicate and write technical documentation, as well as a good command of English for documentation purposes. Knowledge of the second national language is considered an advantage.

Additional Information

Due to the nature of the assignment, candidates must hold Belgian nationality.
