Functional Analyst

We're looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join our client's digital transformation team. You will play a key role in delivering innovative customer-facing solutions and business-critical applications within a large and complex environment. Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers and project teams, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that projects deliver measurable value and an exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements, objectives and processes.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to identify, prioritise and refine business needs.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories and process models.
• Produce high-quality functional analysis, API documentation and solution documentation.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure solutions align with business expectations and architectural standards.
• Support feasibility studies and contribute throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Define and execute user acceptance testing activities, including test scenarios and test plans.
• Analyse and resolve functional issues, collaborating with developers and support teams where required.
• Provide guidance to project teams and challenge stakeholders constructively to identify the most effective solutions.
• Safeguard existing business and solution architecture by collaborating with enterprise, system and solution architects.
• Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, proposing practical alternatives and recommendations.
• Present analyses, process models, documentation and testing outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst.
• Proven experience in public transport, mobility or passenger service environments.
• Experience within e-commerce or digital sales platforms.
• Knowledge of international travel, reservation or ticketing processes, including areas such as content distribution, booking management, direct sales and seat reservations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using business process modelling techniques and tools such as BPMN and UML.
• At least 2 years of experience performing functional analysis for solutions built on Sitecore CMS.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, process modelling and use case development.
• Minimum 5 years of experience writing user stories.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
• Proven experience working within Agile and SAFe delivery environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in complex enterprise environments.

Requirements

• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level).
• Fluent Dutch and/or French communication skills, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level).
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate complex business and technical concepts into clear and actionable documentation.
• Willingness to work predominantly on-site at the client's location, depending on project requirements.
