Functional Analyst

We're looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join our client's team and contribute to the design and delivery of IT solutions supporting operational planning and competency management. You will work alongside a skilled team of analysts and play a central role in translating business needs into clear, actionable functional and technical requirements. This is an opportunity to contribute to digital transformation initiatives that improve and optimize complex operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs and requirements into structured functional analyses and clear deliverables for development teams.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, developers, testers, and user representatives throughout the project lifecycle.

• Analyze complex projects involving multiple interfaces, systems, and data flows.

• Define and document requirements, business processes, data models, interfaces, and functional specifications.

• Structure and maintain project documentation and contribute to consistent analysis practices within the team.

• Translate business priorities into incremental, well-structured instructions for implementation teams.

• Ensure alignment between functional requirements, data models, interfaces, and the overall solution architecture.

• Develop prototypes and mock-ups to support design discussions and validate proposed solutions.

• Contribute to backlog management and prioritization using Jira and Confluence.

• Act as a bridge between strategic stakeholders and the technical teams responsible for implementing the solutions.

Profile

• Minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst in software implementation projects.

• At least 2 years of experience within the public transport sector.

• Experience acting as a Product Owner, Client Owner, or in a comparable stakeholder-facing role.

• Good technical understanding of Blazor, .NET, and SQL.

• Strong understanding of relational data structures and proven ability to design data models.

• Experience working on solutions with multiple interfaces and complex data flows.

• Experience creating prototypes to support functional design and validation.

• Practical experience with Jira and Confluence for backlog and project management.

• Strong requirement elicitation skills and experience working closely with Product Owners and end users.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at both strategic and technical levels.

• Fluent in English, Dutch, and French, with a minimum CEFR C1 level in all three languages.

• Structured, analytical, pragmatic, and comfortable taking ownership within a multidisciplinary project environment.

Practical Information

The assignment requires a high level of on-site presence, potentially up to five days per week at our client's offices. The exact on-site requirements may vary depending on project and business needs and will be communicated during the assignment.
