We're looking for an experienced Functional & Automation Tester to join our client's team and contribute to the delivery of a complex digital solution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will become part of a skilled testing team working on the implementation and continuous improvement of a large-scale platform, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Our client is investing heavily in digital transformation and the development of innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and service reliability. As a key member of the project team, you will play an essential role in validating applications, improving automation capabilities, and ensuring that solutions meet both functional and technical expectations.

Responsibilities

As a Functional & Automation Tester, your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining UI and API automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, and ReadyAPI.
• Creating reusable automated test cases and integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket, Azure DevOps).
• Executing and improving automation suites for regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Performing API testing, validating contracts, and ensuring test coverage aligns with business workflows.
• Planning, designing, and executing functional, SIT, E2E, regression, exploratory, performance, database, cross-browser, and UAT testing activities.
• Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using tools such as Jira, XRay, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Maintaining testing documentation, applying quality standards, and providing clear reporting on test results.
• Collaborating closely with QA teams, developers, product stakeholders, and participating in Agile ceremonies and sprint demonstrations.

Profile

The ideal candidate has:

• 10+ years of experience in software testing, including at least 5 years focused on test automation.
• Proven experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with API testing tools such as ReadyAPI, Postman, or equivalent solutions.
• Solid programming skills in Java, TypeScript, Python, or similar languages.
• Extensive knowledge of designing and executing both manual and automated testing strategies across functional, API, SIT, E2E, and regression testing.
• Experience working with defect management and test management tools such as Jira/XRay, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments and automated delivery pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to investigate issues and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in Agile, cross-functional environments.
• A proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Practical Requirements

• Availability to work onsite in Belgium two days per week.
• Professional English proficiency (minimum B2 level).
• Fluent knowledge of either French or Dutch (minimum C1 level).
