We’re looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join our client’s agile IT environment. You will contribute to the development of new digital solutions and the continuous improvement of existing systems, working closely with business and technical stakeholders. This role sits at the intersection of business needs and technology, with a strong focus on web applications built on a C#/.NET backend.

The Role & Responsibilities

As a Functional Analyst, you play a central role within an agile delivery team and act as a trusted partner to the Product Owner. Your focus is on translating business needs into clear, high-quality functional specifications that guide development and testing.

• Translate business analyses into detailed functional requirements that can be implemented by the development team

• Draft functional analyses, designs, and recommendations aligned with existing architecture and standards

• Create clear and usable analysis documentation for developers and testers

• Write and refine features and user stories based on high-level business requirements

• Participate in projects and sub-projects to help achieve agreed objectives

• Support prioritization and delivery by acting as a key driver within the team

• Ensure overall quality assurance from analysis through delivery

Collaboration & Environment

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including business representatives, Product Owners, Business Analysts, testers, and developers. The IT landscape is diverse and mature, with multiple agile teams focused on custom development and system integration.

• Agile/Scrum-based software development environment

• Strong focus on .NET technologies, databases, and modern web applications

• Use of enterprise architecture governance and scaled agile practices

• Collaboration across multidisciplinary teams with both internal experts and external consultants

• Emphasis on quality, structure, and continuous improvement

The Ideal Candidate

You bring a solid analytical background combined with hands-on technical understanding and strong communication skills.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Functional or Business Analyst

• Proven experience with .NET-based environments and close collaboration with development teams

• Strong track record in documenting analyses, processes, and functional designs

• Extensive experience translating business needs into features and user stories

• Experience with databases and data-driven applications

• Knowledge of modeling techniques such as UML and BPMN

• Solid understanding of Scrum and agile software development

• Experience with Azure and cloud-based environments

• Familiarity with SAFe is a plus

• Experience within the public sector is an advantage

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Good understanding of project management aspects such as planning, coordination, timing, and estimations

• Demonstrated experience in business process development and optimization (BPM)

Language requirements:

• Dutch (CEFR C2 – native or equivalent)
