Infrastructure Engineer

Function

We're looking for a motivated professional to join our client's team as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. In this position, you will play a vital role in managing a complex global IT infrastructure, focusing on key technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere, and Nutanix. The goal is to ensure high availability, robust security, optimal performance, and efficient disaster recovery in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage virtualization and server infrastructure to secure high availability and performance.
• Proactively monitor and optimize performance across server and virtualization environments.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure challenges efficiently.
• Plan and execute system updates, patches, and upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.
• Develop and maintain structured documentation for processes, procedures, and configurations.
• Collaborate with various IT teams and stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with business objectives.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and security best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure administration and configuration.
• Proven hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, Nutanix, and other virtualization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services, and related services.
• Good understanding of networking principles and system architecture.
• Experience in automation and scripting, preferably with PowerShell and Ansible or similar tools.
• Knowledge of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) is advantageous.
• Awareness of GDPR and IT security standards.
• Excellent communication skills along with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Able to work independently under pressure while demonstrating strong analytical skills.
• Fluency in English and Dutch, both spoken and written, is required.

Work Model

• Hybrid working model with 3 days per week onsite in Diegem.
• There is an intention to transition to full-time onsite work in the future.
