IT project leader

Function

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Leader to take ownership of ICT projects and packages related to ETCS, signalling infrastructure, and signalling maintenance. Working closely with the Business Project Leader, you will lead the ICT side of internal initiatives and externally delivered solutions, ensuring strong coordination, clear governance, and reliable delivery in a demanding environment where quality, cybersecurity, and safety are key priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICT projects and packages linked to signalling and ETCS activities.
• Manage the ICT component of internal projects, often delivered through Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies and sometimes under safety requirements.
• Oversee hybrid project delivery approaches combining Agile practices with traditional project management methods to ensure proper steering, reporting, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Coordinate teams and ensure control of scope, budget, planning, activities, incidents, and costs.
• Organize and facilitate steering committees and gate meetings, while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
• For packages, coordinate vendors with business support and ensure release management is respected.
• Supervise the integration of third-party solutions into the organization’s application landscape, including cybersecurity, infrastructure, and architecture aspects.
• Maintain technical documentation, CMDB data, and vendor relationships.
• Contribute actively to continuous improvement and ensure alignment with applicable quality, cybersecurity, and safety standards.

Technical Skills

• At least 5 years of experience in project management.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum, with at least 2 years of experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with PMI, PMBOK, and/or PRINCE2.
• At least 2 years of experience with ITIL.
• At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Some experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM).
• At least 2 years of experience integrating third-party solutions.
• At least 2 years of experience with Jira.
• Basic knowledge of infrastructure environments such as Linux and/or Windows, as well as networking, to engage effectively with technical specialists.

Practical Information

• Languages required: Dutch or French at C1 level, English at B2 level, and passive knowledge of the other Dutch or French language at B1 level.
• This role involves working in an environment where ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and occasionally EN 50128 compliance are relevant.
