We’re looking for a talented consultant to join our client’s innovative technology team, contributing to a major transformation initiative. The program focuses on modernizing a legacy monolithic application into a cloud-native, microservices-based architecture running on Kubernetes. Built around an API-first and event-driven approach, this transformation goes far beyond technical refactoring—it is a full-scale digital evolution designed to improve agility, scalability, and time-to-value for both internal and external users.

In this role, you will play a key part in designing, building, and evolving modern software components while helping to shape a more flexible and user-centric digital platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration, high-quality delivery, and alignment with evolving business and regulatory needs. Your responsibilities will include:

• Gathering and clarifying functional and technical requirements with stakeholders
• Designing and implementing scalable microservices and API-driven solutions
• Contributing to code reviews and promoting software engineering best practices
• Monitoring application performance and troubleshooting production and non-production issues
• Supporting continuous improvement of development and delivery processes

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in modern software engineering and thrives in agile, fast-paced environments. You combine technical depth with clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset. You should have:

• Proven experience with microservices architectures and API development
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystems
• Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum) and software development practices
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across technical and business teams
• Fluency in English and Dutch

From a technical standpoint, you bring hands-on expertise across a broad and modern technology stack, including Java and Spring Boot for backend development, Angular for frontend components, and REST APIs for integration. Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication is highly valuable. Familiarity with tools and environments such as Kubernetes, Git, Jira, Confluence, ELK stack, DB2, Linux, Windows, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, WebLogic, and DevOps practices will be considered a strong advantage.
