Java Cloud Developer

Function

We're looking for a Java Developer with AWS expertise to support the development platform of our client. You'll be working closely with platform and development teams to ensure their cloud-native environment is secure, efficient, and future-ready.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve our client's AWS-based development infrastructure
• Collaborate closely with AWS platform engineers to support development pipelines
• Support and enhance CI/CD flows, particularly through GitHub Actions
• Ensure smooth operation and integration of containerized applications on EKS Kubernetes clusters
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and development environments

The Role

You’ll be part of a technical backbone that enables seamless backend and frontend development. Your work will focus on automating infrastructure, enhancing developer workflows, and integrating essential AWS services like:

• API Gateway, EventBridge, S3, SQS, and SNS
• Java Spring Boot and AWS Lambda-based applications
• Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform and Docker

The Ideal Candidate

Our client is looking for someone with a solid foundation in cloud-native software development, especially within AWS environments. The must-have skills include:

• Proficiency with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Java Lambda development
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • AWS services: EKS, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, SageMaker
  • IaC with Terraform
  • Docker containers
  • GitHub and GitHub Actions (or Bitbucket)
  • CI/CD tooling within the AWS ecosystem
• Development on Apple Mac systems

Additional nice-to-have skills:

• TypeScript, JavaScript, CloudWatch, Kibana

Practical

• Fluent in English and a strong knowledge of Dutch is preferred
• Able to work onsite in one of the offices, combined with 50% teleworking
