Java Developer

Function

We’re looking for a Dev Engineer to join our client’s agile team, contributing to the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You’ll play a key role in delivering valuable increments at the end of each sprint, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to build robust and scalable applications.

Role & Responsibilities

• Contribute across the full development lifecycle: analysis, design, development, testing, and integration
• Take ownership of delivering sprint backlog items, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Collaborate closely with team members, going beyond your core expertise to support shared team objectives
• Translate functional requirements and user stories into efficient and maintainable code
• Engage actively with stakeholders and Product Owners to clarify features and ensure business value delivery
• Promote knowledge sharing, mentor junior developers, and contribute to team growth and learning culture

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience as a Java developer within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Solid knowledge of Java/Spring ecosystems, object-oriented programming, REST APIs, and SOA architectures
• Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Selenium
• Good knowledge of Oracle databases and SQL
• Familiarity with cloud environments and modern development practices
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand complex systems and requirements
• Continuous learner, staying up to date with evolving technologies and best practices

Profile & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or equivalent through experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software development
• Experience working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders and teams
• Understanding of financial services or banking domain is considered a strong asset
• Ability to coach, guide, and support less experienced developers
• Comfortable working across different methodologies and adapting to changing environments

Languages & Soft Skills

• Fluent in English
• Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented mindset
• Well-organized with strong prioritization skills and attention to detail
• Team player with a flexible attitude and a commitment to delivering value
