Lead Architect

Function

We're looking for a highly experienced Lead Enterprise Architect Consultant to join our client's team on an exciting enterprise transformation initiative in Belgium. In this senior consulting role, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping to shape and mature the client's Enterprise Architecture practice while leveraging the ARIS platform. You will provide strategic guidance, establish governance and architecture standards, and support the successful implementation of scalable Enterprise Architecture capabilities.

Your Responsibilities

As the lead architectural reference for the Enterprise Architecture team, you will:

• Define and advise on Enterprise Architecture standards, principles, frameworks, and governance.
• Support an agile delivery approach, enabling the implementation of minimum viable solutions within the ARIS environment.
• Design and evolve the Enterprise Architecture metamodel, ensuring optimal reuse of existing architecture assets.
• Provide best practices, methods, and tooling guidance to Enterprise Architecture teams and key stakeholders.
• Advise on architecture building blocks, deliverables, modelling standards, and technical specifications.
• Support project teams throughout solution design, implementation, migration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Perform quality reviews of the Enterprise Architecture solution and identify potential risks impacting architecture initiatives.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert for the ARIS platform while fostering effective collaboration between technical and business stakeholders.

Your Profile

We're looking for a consultant who brings:

• At least 15 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture and/or Business Process Management.
• Proven experience delivering Enterprise Architecture solutions using ARIS, including participation in at least three large-scale implementation projects.
• Strong expertise in Enterprise Architecture frameworks, ARIS governance, and ARIS metamodel design, with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience.
• Solid working knowledge of ArchiMate, BPMN, and Enterprise Architecture modelling within the ARIS platform.
• Significant experience working within the public sector.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, combined with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
• Fluency in English and either Dutch or French (professional proficiency), along with legal authorization to work in Belgium.

The following will be considered strong assets:

• More than 20 years of Enterprise Architecture experience across multiple industries.
• Expertise spanning Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, and Business Process Management throughout the complete architecture lifecycle.
• Deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and the ARIS metamodel.
• Relevant certifications such as ArchiMate, BPMN, ARIS, or Prometa.
• A proactive attitude, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to build productive relationships across business and IT teams.
