Lead Data Architect

We're looking for a seasoned consultant to become an integral part of our client's ambitious data journey. This international company is poised to redefine its data strategy, moving towards an AI-driven operational model. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of data architecture and analytics within a well-established organization.
Responsibilities and Role
You will take ownership of the data platform, building it from the ground up within a Microsoft Fabric environment, which integrates native AI capabilities, a centralized data lake, reporting, and advanced analytics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the architecture and direction of the platform, ensuring it delivers business value.
- Managing external partners for the Fabric environment and middleware integration.
- Translating business goals into data models and digitalizing KPIs currently housed in Excel.
- Promoting data as a strategic asset and fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
Expected Deliverables
Your contributions will pave the way for a cohesive and reliable data flow across systems and processes, ensuring:
- A single source of truth for master data including customers, vehicles, drivers, and locations.
- Real-time reporting and analytics across domains and countries.
- Compliance with privacy, AI, and cybersecurity standards (GDPR, NIS2, AI Act).
- Structured transformation towards a data-driven organization.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and its capabilities, alongside a passion for AI and its transformative potential. Essential qualifications include:
- Experience in leading external partners while assessing technical content.
- Understanding of integration platforms and the ability to identify quality integration work.
- Familiarity with governance, security, and regulations related to data management.
- A proactive approach, taking ownership and accountability while effectively communicating with both business owners and developers.
Fluency in Dutch and English is required, while French is a plus.
