Lead Operations & Data Governance

We’re looking for an Operations & Data Governance Manager to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll take the lead in ensuring that data flows securely, reliably, and transparently across modern platforms such as APIs, event streaming, and operational data stores. You’ll be responsible for building operational excellence, setting clear governance frameworks, and driving continuous improvement across data services.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Compliance

• Define and maintain governance standards, processes, and best practices for data operations.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, security, traceability).

• Contribute to the implementation of data catalogues, metadata management, and access controls.

• Oversee audit and monitoring policies for all data flows.

Operations & Monitoring

• Supervise daily operations of data exchange platforms (API, event streaming, ODS, etc.).

• Enhance monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems to guarantee service quality.

• Implement and maintain data flows according to business and technical needs.

• Investigate and resolve incidents, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.

• Identify gaps in observability, logging, or SLA/SLO adherence and provide solutions.

Team Leadership & Organization

• Define the skills and resources required for data operations (engineers, monitoring specialists, data stewards, etc.).

• Recruit, build, and manage a high-performing team.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

• Report on capacity, budget consumption, and project progress to senior management.

Collaboration & Strategic Alignment

• Work closely with development teams to anticipate operational needs.

• Act as the key interface between IT, business stakeholders (reporting, data science, analytics), and data users.

• Collect, prioritize, and analyze requirements for data reliability, auditability, and performance.

The Ideal Candidate

Background & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data operations or governance within complex environments (API management, streaming, ETL/ELT, data lake/warehouse, ODS).

• Proven experience in team leadership or technical coordination.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of data integration and exchange technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, API Gateways, relational & NoSQL databases).

• Expertise in monitoring practices (observability, logging, metrics, tracing).

• Solid understanding of security, IAM, audit processes, and compliance frameworks.
