LIMS Application Owner

Function

We’re looking for an experienced LIMS Application Owner to join our client’s team and take ownership of a business-critical laboratory information platform. In this role, you will be responsible for the stability, performance, evolution and future readiness of the LIMS environment.

This is not a traditional people management role. You will act as the functional and technical owner of the platform, bringing structure, focus and predictability to a complex application landscape. You will work closely with laboratory teams, QA, operations, management, IT and external software partners to ensure the platform supports operational needs, quality requirements and international scalability.

Responsibilities

You will take the lead in shaping and improving the LIMS environment, with a strong focus on delivery, governance and long-term maintainability. Your responsibilities include:

• Owning the LIMS platform, including performance, stability, integrations and future development.

• Creating and managing a clear functional and technical roadmap.

• Structuring business demand and translating it into validated requirements and realistic delivery plans.

• Managing software delivery across priorities, scope, release planning, quality, timing and budget.

• Introducing a more structured release and project approach with clear quality criteria.

• Challenging and steering external software suppliers and IT partners on content, timing, quality and commitment.

• Safeguarding architecture, platform consistency, maintainability and technical risk.

• Analysing incidents, support load and recurring issues, then driving structural improvements.

• Ensuring reliable documentation, change control, validation and compliance in a regulated laboratory environment.

• Supporting further rollout, harmonisation and standardisation of LIMS across an international context.

Profile

The ideal candidate combines technical maturity, strong analytical skills and hands-on delivery focus. You know how to move between business, IT and external partners, and you are comfortable taking ownership from analysis through to implementation.

We are looking for someone with:

• A master’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in IT, engineering, sciences or a related field.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in application ownership, IT delivery, business analysis or application management.

• Experience in a laboratory, production, quality or other operationally critical environment; this is a strong plus.

• Proven experience with:

  • Functional analysis and requirements management.

  • Managing external software suppliers.

  • Delivery governance and release management.

  • Application integrations and data flows.

• Sufficient technical maturity to challenge suppliers and assess technical choices.

• Experience with LIMS, legacy applications or highly integrated business-critical systems; this is a major asset.

• Knowledge of quality and validation requirements in a regulated environment; this is a plus.

• A mindset built around customer focus, results, learning agility, flexibility and collaboration.

• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
