Machine Learning Engineer

We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our client's growing AI team and help design, build, deploy, and maintain production-ready machine learning solutions. In this role, you'll ensure that ML models are not only accurate during experimentation but also reliable, scalable, and maintainable in production across both Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments. Working closely with data engineers, software developers, architects, and business stakeholders, you'll transform machine learning use cases into sustainable technical solutions while supporting compliance with relevant AI regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and analyse data from multiple internal and external sources to support machine learning initiatives.
• Design and implement feature engineering processes while ensuring data quality, consistency, and reproducibility.
• Develop, train, validate, and optimise machine learning models for use cases such as classification, regression, forecasting, anomaly detection, and scoring.
• Evaluate and benchmark models using appropriate techniques, with a strong focus on performance, explainability, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Deploy machine learning models as scalable services, APIs, or batch processes and contribute to standardized deployment practices.
• Build and maintain MLOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, and automated deployment workflows for ML solutions.
• Monitor model performance, latency, stability, data drift, and model drift, while implementing retraining and feedback mechanisms to ensure long-term effectiveness.
• Apply version control to code, models, configurations, and datasets, ensuring reliable and repeatable deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions, document implementations, and promote best practices in machine learning engineering, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Your Profile

• Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar role, delivering production-grade machine learning solutions.
• Strong understanding of the complete machine learning lifecycle, from data preparation and model development to deployment and operational support.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployment of machine learning models.
• Experience integrating ML models into backend services, APIs, or data processing workflows.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, results-oriented mindset.
• Strong focus on software quality, scalability, maintainability, and operational reliability.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative approach, strong sense of ownership, and eagerness to continuously learn and adopt new technologies and best practices.
• Fluent in either Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the second national language.

What's Offered

This is a hybrid position, requiring two days per week on-site at our client's office and allowing remote work for the remaining three days.
