Medior Workplace Engineer

Function

Our client is looking for two external professionals to strengthen workplace operations and support project delivery within a modern enterprise environment. Depending on priorities, the consultants will contribute either to day-to-day workplace support or to the implementation of a secure workplace initiative, helping the internal team focus on critical activities while maintaining continuity, stability, and SLA commitments.

Responsibilities

The assignment combines operational support with project-based work. Depending on experience and business needs, the consultants may support one or both of the following areas:

• Second- and/or third-line support for end users and the service desk
• Management and follow-up of workplace components within the Microsoft ecosystem
• Support for device management, policy administration, and basic security measures
• Incident and problem resolution within the workplace domain
• Contributing to team stability, documentation, and knowledge sharing

In the project context, they may also be involved in technical analysis, preparation and execution of measures, testing, documentation, knowledge transfer, implementation support, and post-implementation follow-up. The precise split between operational and project work may change throughout the assignment based on planning and operational needs.

Technical Skills

The ideal profile brings experience across several of the following areas:

• Microsoft 365 and modern workplace environments
• Windows workplace management and device management, including Intune
• Basic security and compliance knowledge in an enterprise setting
• Second- and/or third-line support experience
• PowerShell scripting for automation of administration, configuration, and reporting tasks
• Microsoft App Control for Business, including design, testing, phased deployment, monitoring, policy management, and exception handling
• Automation and scripting in SharePoint Online, preferably with PowerShell, PnP PowerShell, and/or Microsoft Graph
• Software distribution and automated application rollout via Microsoft Intune and the business portal
• Support and operationalization of workplace components such as PCs, mobile devices, printers, and scanners
• Experience with Windows operating systems and at least one additional client OS such as macOS or iOS
• Knowledge of change management and configuration management tools

Profile

We are seeking consultants who can quickly become part of an existing team and work independently in a structured environment. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential.

• Proven experience in workplace infrastructure support
• Ability to work proactively and autonomously
• Experience supporting enterprise workplace services and devices
• Comfortable working in environments with strict SLA and operational stability requirements
• Experience in a public sector or semi-public environment is considered an advantage
• Ability to provide concrete examples of relevant assignments and achievements per proposed profile
• Willingness to sign an IT code of conduct and NDA

Must-have experience includes Microsoft 365, Intune, PowerShell, and second- or third-line support. Experience with Microsoft App Control for Business and SharePoint automation will be evaluated based on the planned division of responsibilities between the two consultants.

Preferred experience includes working with public sector contexts, Windows operating systems, business portals or self-service platforms, PC hardware and software components, ITIL-like incident and problem management processes, and endpoint security or basic hardening.

Practical Information

This is a consulting assignment for two external profiles. The exact allocation of responsibilities will be defined in consultation with our client based on experience, team needs, and the project roadmap.

Language requirements: fluent Dutch at CEFR level C2.
