Middleware DevOps Engineer

Function

We are looking for a skilled consultant to become part of our client's dynamic team. This role involves engaging with middleware and ESB management within a versatile environment. The successful candidate will be pivotal in executing management tasks associated with change management, release management, and technical releases, all while maintaining a focus on operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage ESB configurations, including certificates, security, and network flows, utilizing tools such as SCM portal and CMDB.
• Perform operational tasks on the OpenShift platform: deployment, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain Python scripts integrated into the assets mentioned above.

Desired Profile

The ideal candidate is expected to showcase proficiency in the following hard skills:

• Theoretical knowledge of network standards (IPv4/v6, routing, firewall, etc.) with practical experience being highly valued.
• Familiarity with JEE middleware.
• Understanding of web service standards (SOAP, REST) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python programming; experience in Java is advantageous.

In addition, the candidate must possess essential soft skills including:

• Autonomy and the ability to seek solutions while also being willing to reach out to senior colleagues for assistance.
• A strong capacity for teamwork and effective communication, ensuring clarity and conciseness in reporting.
• A curiosity to learn with an openness to both modern technologies (OpenShift, Docker) and legacy systems (WebSphere).
• Fluency in both Dutch and English is required, with knowledge of French being an asset.
