Network Security Engineer

Function

We’re looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join our client’s cybersecurity team and take ownership of securing complex, business-critical network infrastructures. This is a high-impact role where you will design, strengthen, and future-proof network security across on-premises and cloud environments while acting as a technical leader within the team.

Our client operates in a demanding and evolving IT landscape where resilience, performance, and security are paramount. As a senior expert, you will play a key role in defining security standards, responding to incidents, and guiding both technical and non-technical stakeholders toward robust and sustainable solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design and implement network security strategies to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access

• Configure, maintain, and optimize firewalls, VPNs, proxies (forward & reverse), and load balancers

• Secure hybrid and cloud environments, including protection of data in transit and at rest, and implementation of secure access models such as ZTNA

• Monitor network activity continuously to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents

• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments

• Manage routing and network infrastructure components (routers, switches, WiFi, ISP connections, Express Route, DNS, TACACS)

• Lead incident response efforts, threat analysis, and vulnerability remediation

• Automate network and security tasks using scripting to enhance operational efficiency

• Provide advanced technical support and collaborate closely with infrastructure, development, and business teams

• Contribute to the definition of security standards, protocols, and cryptographic best practices

Technical Expertise

• Strong foundation in network management and routing principles (dynamic, static, inter-domain routing)

• Deep expertise in network security technologies (firewalls, VPN, proxy, load balancing)

• Solid understanding of cloud security and secure access architectures

• Experience in incident detection, response, and remediation

• Automation and scripting capabilities for operational improvement

• Knowledge of operating systems commonly used in enterprise network environments

• Understanding of security standards and cryptographic protocols

• Continuous learning mindset; professional certifications in network and security domains are considered a strong asset
