OT Data Engineer

Function

We're looking for an experienced OT Data Engineer to join our client's technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, optimization, and evolution of a large-scale Operational Technology (OT) data environment. Working with high volumes of real-time data, you will ensure seamless data flows from field systems through to historical repositories and enterprise data platforms while maintaining the highest standards of stability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve OT data processing platforms and data pipelines.
• Monitor system health, performance, and security through proactive checks and operational best practices.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, patching activities, and planned data refreshes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability across critical business systems.
• Design, develop, and implement new data products, integrations, and technical solutions to support evolving business requirements.
• Build and maintain the infrastructure and database environments required to deliver reliable data to analysts, engineers, and data science teams.
• Investigate, optimize, and enhance existing solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.

The Ideal Candidate

You bring strong experience within enterprise ICT infrastructure environments and have a proven track record in designing, implementing, and supporting business-critical data solutions. You are proactive, eager to learn, and capable of operating independently in complex technical environments.

Required experience includes:

• System administration within ICT infrastructure environments.
• Building and delivering new data products, integrations, and technical projects.
• Data management and data platform operations.
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux environments.
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle environments.
• Relational database technologies, including Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Python scripting.
• Shell scripting.
• System engineering expertise in at least one of the following environments: Unix, Linux, or Windows.
• Supporting and maintaining large-scale, business-critical applications.
• Working within ISO 27001-driven environments and applying a strong security-focused mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Apache Cassandra environments.
• Experience working with OT and SCADA systems.
