PHP/C Developer

Function

Our client is looking for an experienced software specialist to contribute to a strategic modernization initiative within a large-scale public-sector ICT environment. The assignment focuses on developing, maintaining, and improving PHP- and C-based solutions that support critical information and communication systems, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team of internal and external specialists.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of application development and technical support, with an emphasis on reliability, quality, and maintainability in a high-availability environment.

• Design, develop, and test applications based on functional and technical analysis
• Maintain and enhance PHP and C applications within critical operational systems
• Analyze user needs in collaboration with functional analysts
• Monitor technological developments and provide technical recommendations
• Propose improvements and adjustments to existing solutions and projects
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation
• Provide maintenance and technical support for applications

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate combines strong backend development expertise with a solid understanding of infrastructure and integration concepts.

• Strong expertise in PHP 5.6, PHP 7, and PHP 8
• Advanced knowledge of server-side C programming, including asynchronous programming and threads
• Good knowledge of JavaScript and C#
• Experience with Xamarin
• Basic knowledge of Linux Red Hat server environments
• Good understanding of network protocols, especially TCP/IP
• Experience using web services from PHP applications, including REST and SOAP
• Familiarity with AngularJS, Ajax, jQuery, PHP frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Git, and DEVO

Practical Information

• Work regime: full-time, 40 hours per week
• On-site presence is required at least twice per week, depending on the tasks and in consultation with the team
• Telework is allowed within Belgium
• This is a long-term consulting opportunity
