Bedrijf: Police-PolitieWe're seeking a skilled consultant to join our client's team, contributing to the development and management of cutting-edge information technology systems. This position involves working with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the integration of information and communication systems, ensuring their efficiency, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities and Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing, improving, and maintaining the integration of database systems within the organization's internal and external IT infrastructure.
- Developing standards, guidelines, and procedures for technical systems evolution and contributing to digital transformation efforts.
- Designing, administering, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases with a strong focus on security and reliability.
- Engaging in backend application development using Python and managing code repositories via GitLab.
Tasks and Key Duties
The candidate's tasks will include:
- Optimizing PostgreSQL database performance through backup, restore, monitoring, and tuning.
- Designing database structures and developing data synchronization mechanisms.
- Supporting development projects with tailored database solutions and backend integration.
- Establishing and managing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
- Potentially assisting with the implementation of other database management systems.
- Optionally utilizing the Elastic Stack for monitoring and logging purposes.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master’s degree or Bachelor's in Computer Science or a comparable field of experience.
- Strong methodical and precise working style, with the ability to work under stress.
- A proactive attitude with a strong sense of initiative and adaptability.
- Excellent team player qualities and flexibility in working hours.
- Robust documentation skills.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in either Dutch or French (passive knowledge of the second language required, though bilingualism is preferred).
- Proficient in English.
